Kids’ Art Show Fundraiser for New Adventure Playground

Cache Valley Kids help Raise Money for Whittier Community Center’s New Project

LOGAN, Utah— Cache Valley elementary school kids will be participating in an art show on Nov. 6, 2008 to help raise money for the new Whittier Community Center’s disability-accessible Adventure Playground. The playground is scheduled to be built on April 2009.

Kids at local elementary schools have been asked to submit pictures of them playing on the Adventure Playground. Every child that submits an entry will receive a coupon for a free Wendy’s Frosty™. Art professors from Utah State University will choose the top 10 entries at the art show. Those winners will then receive prizes provided by local businesses. An iPod Shuffle, donated by Best Buy, movie tickets, and McDonald’s gift certificates are a few of the prizes that will be handed out. All artwork must be submitted by Oct. 24.

The cost of the art show will be $2 per person or $5 per family. Anyone who attends the art show will have the chance to win an iPod Shuffle. Jeffrey Wright, a member of the planning committee, says, “We are excited for the community’s involvement and cannot wait to see what the kids come up with.” The art show will run from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2008 at the Whittier Community Center.

The Whittier Community Center was established in 1992. It sponsors more than 25 civic organizations in the community focusing on women and children. Over 1,000 adults and children visit the Whittier Center every week. Whittier Community Center is located at 290 N. 400 E., Logan, UT, 84321. Final Media Pitch

An Opportunity for Financial Independence for Cache Valley Residents
Dear Emilie,

I wanted to share some information with you about Cache Valley Area Investors Association, CVAIA. CVAIA is working with residents of the Cache Valley area, teaching them how to become financially independent through investments (passive income). The goal is to teach people that everyone can do a job they love because they are not relying on active income, or salary. "We want to teach people how to become financially independent using passive income,” says President/Founder of CVAIA Preston Parker.

One of the great things about CVAIA is that membership is totally free and everyone is invited to join. It is also a non-threatening environment. Nobody needs to know anything about investing before hand. The focus is to educate people on investments through various activities. CVAIA holds meetings every other Thursday night at the Logan Chamber of Commerce on 160 N. Main Street in Logan, Utah at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting will be on Oct. 16 2008.

Please let me know when we can meet so I can answer any questions you may have. My phone number is 801-589-5359 and my email address is k.ridl@aggiemail.usu.edu

Thank you,

Kym Ridl
