Kids’ Art Show Fundraiser for New Adventure Playground
Cache Valley Kids help Raise Money for Whittier Community Center’s New Project

LOGAN, Utah— Cache Valley elementary school kids will be participating in an art show on Nov. 9, 2008 to help raise money for the new Whittier Community Center’s disability-accessible Adventure Playground. The playground is scheduled to be built on April 20-25, 2009.

Kids at local elementary schools have been asked to submit pictures of them playing on the Adventure Playground. Every child that submits an entry will receive a coupon for a free Wendy’s Frosty™. Art professors from Utah State University will choose the top 10 entries at the art show. Those winners will then receive prizes provided by local businesses. An iPod Shuffle, donated by Best Buy, movie tickets, and McDonald’s gift certificates are a few of the prizes that will be handed out. All artwork must be submitted by Oct. 24.

The cost of the art show will be $2 per person or $5 per family. Anyone who attends the art show will have the chance to win an iPod Shuffle. Jeffrey Wright, a member of the planning staff, says, “We are excited for the community’s involvement and can’t wait to see what the kids come up with.” The art show will run from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2008 at the Whittier Community Center.

The Whittier Community Center was established in 1992 and sponsors more than 25 civic organizations in the community focusing on women and children. Over 1,000 adults and children visit the Whittier Center every week. Whittier Community Center is located at 290 N. 400 E., Logan, UT, 84321.

Kym-
Great job on this press release! I feel like I could write a story off of the information you gave. You included a lot of detail and were focused on one cause, announcing the art show. Good job!
